About the Journal

A forum for scholarship in Church History and Missiology

The Nigerian Journal of Church History and Missiological Studies (NJOCHAMS) is the journal of the Nigerian Association of Church History and Missiological Studies. Publishing annual journals, periodicals and books that promote the study of Church History and Missiology is one of the core purposes of the Association.

The Journal publishes original research articles, review essays and book reviews on the history of Christianity in Nigeria and Africa, Missiology, ecumenism and interreligious dialogue, and the place of the Church in Nigerian society.

Submit your work to NJOCHAMS

The Journal welcomes original research from scholars of Church History, Missiology, Theology and related areas of Religious Studies, in Nigeria and beyond. Submissions are received throughout the year and are considered by the Editorial Board for the next available issue.

Submission guidelines

Articles should be original and not under consideration by another journal.
Manuscripts should be written in English and sent as a Microsoft Word document.
Include an abstract of not more than 250 words and up to six keywords.
Give the author’s full name, institution, email address and telephone number on a separate cover page.
Use one referencing style consistently throughout the article.
Articles are reviewed by the Editorial Board, and authors are notified of the decision by email.

Copies, back issues and subscriptions

Printed copies of NJOCHAMS are available from the National Secretariat. Institutional members of NACHAMS receive two copies of the Journal each year as part of their annual dues. For back issues and subscriptions, please contact the Secretariat.
